The "Materia prima" series is a new chapter in Kamila Mróz's creative work with glass. It explores the possibilities of glass shaped by the glassworks in combination with liquid metals.
The artist, glassworker and craftsman, like a modern alchemist, consciously works on many levels. His work is not only physical action with materials, but also experiencing and manipulating subtle forces, working on the soul and reflecting on the spiritual and cosmic aspects of alchemy. These different areas interpenetrate each other, creating a single whole. In order to achieve progress, the creator must simultaneously develop their inner awareness and outer craft. The symbol that unites all these aspects is Aludel - an alchemical vessel symbolizing the final stages of transformation, which is also a metaphor for the creative process and the act of creation.
