With its painterly surface and subtle form the table lamp "Verve" embraces the lyrical ambience of light and colour. Inspired by the blooming silhouettes of nature and the palette of Post-Impressionist painters, the lamp is in itself a piece of decorative art.
Crafted entirely from material consisting of coloured recycled glass particles and pigmented biobased resin the lamp presents a distinct range of translucence. The dimmable light reveals glowing contours of form, transforming the lampshade from opaque and dense when it’s turned off into shimmering and airy when it’s on. With its deeply saturated hues but also blurred and gentle glow the lamp creates an atmosphere of warm tactility for the interior. The shape balances the modern simplicity with sensual lines of wrapped, leaf-like surfaces and the technicality of the cord fixture is gently elevated as an integral component of the design.
The lamps are part of an ongoing collection where each item is unique due to its craftsmanship. Each piece is cast as flat and the thin slab of material is treated almost like a painting with splashes of colour. Later on it is carefully wrapped around the mould in order to obtain the desired shape until it reaches its highly sturdy yet lightweight structure. Delving into the intersection of painting, sculpture and functionality the collection is meant to evolve freely with alternate colour compositions, creating a poetic assemblage. Each handcrafted lamp is made to order in Copenhagen.
