Craftica Gallery is a collectible design gallery founded in 2024 by Anna Woźniak-Starak as part of the cultural initiatives of the Starak Family Foundation. Its mission is to promote Polish applied arts, contemporary craftsmanship, and collectible design on the international stage while strengthening the global presence of Polish creators and makers.
The gallery was established on the belief that craftsmanship is not merely a legacy of the past, but a living and evolving form of contemporary culture. Craftica presents the work of artists, designers, and artisans who combine traditional techniques with a contemporary design language, creating objects at the intersection of art, design, and functionality.
Ceramics, glass, wood, metal, and textiles are not simply materials here—they are active partners in the creative process.
The gallery's program is rooted in a dialogue between tradition and innovation. Its exhibitions are conceived as cohesive narratives that explore themes of materiality, cultural memory, technology, sustainability, and the role of craftsmanship in contemporary life. Craftica not only documents the ongoing transformation of design and craft but actively contributes to shaping its future by supporting artists and makers at different stages of their professional development.
Since its opening, the gallery has consistently represented Polish craftsmanship at leading international art and design events, including NOMAD St. Moritz, Salone del Mobile.Milano, Warsaw Gallery Weekend, and Salon Art + Design New York. Through these activities, Craftica serves as a platform for showcasing contemporary Polish creativity and fostering international dialogue around collectible design and artistic craftsmanship.
Anna Woźniak-Starak is a philanthropist, art collector, and one of the leading patrons of culture in Poland. For many years, she has actively supported emerging artists, designers, and craftspeople, consistently promoting Polish art and contemporary craftsmanship on the international cultural stage.
In 2008, together with Jerzy Starak, she founded the Starak Family Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting education, culture, and the arts while creating opportunities for the development of young talent. Through its wide-ranging activities, the Foundation provides long-term support for artists and makers, facilitates access to significant cultural initiatives, and presents a collection of twentieth- and twenty-first-century Polish art encompassing painting, sculpture, photography, and installation.
Anna Woźniak-Starak is also an ambassador of the Homo Faber programme of the Michelangelo Foundation and has been actively involved in international initiatives dedicated to artistic craftsmanship. In 2025, she served as a member of the jury for Homo Faber Capsule- Interwoven, a prestigious contemporary craft exhibition presented in Seville. In recognition of her contribution to culture, she was awarded the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture- Gloria Artis.
Her aesthetic sensitivity, experience as a collector, and deep conviction that craftsmanship carries cultural knowledge, memory, and enduring values became the foundation for the creation of Craftica Gallery.
Through the gallery, Anna Woźniak-Starak has established a platform where Polish artists and makers can develop their careers, gain international visibility, and build meaningful relationships with collectors, institutions, and audiences around the world.
Since 2008, the Starak Family Foundation has pursued a mission of supporting and promoting culture, the arts, and the development of emerging talent. Operating at the intersection of education, patronage, and cultural programming, the Foundation creates long-term initiatives that support artists while strengthening awareness of Poland's cultural heritage.
One of the Foundation's flagship initiatives is the Kunszt Programme, established to support a new generation of artistic craftsmanship. The programme is dedicated to designers, craftspeople, and makers working in the fields of functional and decorative objects. Its aim is to foster innovative design thinking, material experimentation, and meaningful dialogue between traditional craft techniques and contemporary design practices. Kunszt provides a platform for the development of original projects, professional growth, and the promotion of the cultural value of handmade objects.
Craftica Gallery is a natural partner of the Kunszt Programme. Many of the artists represented by the gallery have emerged from this creative ecosystem, and the close collaboration between the two initiatives creates a comprehensive development pathway for makers—from talent discovery and the realization of early projects, through professional representation and career support, to participation in prestigious international exhibitions and design fairs.
talent discovery → realization of early projects → professional representation and career support → participation in prestigious international exhibitions and design fairs
This model of responsible cultural patronage extends beyond the promotion of individual works, investing instead in the long-term development of artists and in strengthening the international visibility of Polish design and applied arts.
Together, the Starak Family Foundation, the Kunszt Programme, and Craftica Gallery form a unique ecosystem dedicated to the advancement of contemporary Polish craftsmanship.
