For this year’s NOMAD the artists created experimental works, deeply rooted in craft and forces of nature, and inspired by the never-ending transformation of caves and icefalls. The process of combining materials with different properties evokes alchemical work with matter and remains visible in the structure of the objects. For the light object, bronze details are cast directly onto aluminum and represent the trace of the process of combining materials with different properties. The object creates tension between cold and warmth, weight and light, external austerity and a hidden interior.
