**Afghan Hound** is a unique collectible object created from an original Polish chair dating from the 1960s. Through the labour-intensive technique of hand tufting with wool, a familiar furniture form is transformed into a sculptural object that exists between collectible design, fibre art and functional furniture.

The work explores the relationship between texture, movement and material. Long, softly cascading woollen fringes give the object a sense of lightness and fluidity, subtly evoking the distinctive silhouette and coat of the Afghan Hound. The inspiration, however, is not a literal representation of the animal, but rather an attempt to translate its character and rhythm into the language of form and material.

Each piece is handmade, making every example a unique object. The tufted layer completely redefines the chair’s original function, inviting a reconsideration of the boundaries between utility, craftsmanship and sculpture.
